ON THE OTHER SIDE is a collaborative project that was created jointly with Venezuelan refugees and migrants in Ecuador, who took a workshop to learn more about immersive storytelling and shared their stories in order to create the script. Some of these people also formed part of the production team.

The filming of the video, by the Ecuadorian producer Imán Transmedia with the support of UNHCR, took place over five days in the cities of Tulcán, Quito and Santo Domingo. The production was also supported by various UNHCR partner organisations in Ecuador, such as HIAS, Misión Scalabriniana and the Jesuit Refugee Service.
